Over the past, I’ve tried to help resource some of the best leadership and theology books I’ve read in any given year.

In fact, here are a few of the other posts I’ve done with some of my favorite books:

This year, I wanted to stick to theology. Much of my year has been shaped around growing in that area, and it feels fitting to keep my list to these books. At least for now.

Redeeming Heartache may be one of the best books I’ve read over the past 7–10 years. I don’t even know that I can fully process it at this point, other than to say anyone in a ministry/pastoral position should read and wrestle with the content. Dr. Dan & Cathy do an amazing job of presenting a paradigm for how trauma and traumatic experiences impact our life story, and how those can be leveraged to lean into the calling God has put on our life.
